Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shuts all rumours about the Mi Max 4 via his latest Weibo post. In the post he said, there’s no Mi Max 4 coming this year. Jun also reveals that the company has no plans to bring a new Mi Note device. For fans of both of these product lines, well, it was a good run.
Via the new Weibo post Jun confirms the roadmap of the Xiaomi and Redmi brand. He says that the Xiaomi brand will focus on new technologies, premium phones, and flagships. On the other hand, Redmi will be all about bringing the latest technologies at budget. Redmi will mostly target the low to mid-range market, while Xiaomi is more premium.
“We will always insist on doing a good product that is “moving people and being kindly priced” claims the Weibo post. Lei Jun then continues, “there are no plans for the new Max and Note this year”, being the final nail in the coffin. Thankfully, it seems like the Redmi devices are all still mostly intact.
This suggests that Xiaomi will no longer launch a Mi Note or a Mi Max device. The company has discontinued both lineups. This further means that there will be no Mi Max 4 or Mi Note 4 as rumours and leaks have had hinted. The last device under both Mi Mix and Mi Note series were Mi Max 3 and Mi Note 3, respectively. May they rest in peace.
