A couple of months ago, in April, Xiaomi released the MIUI update for the Pocophone F1 (aka Poco F1) which added the Widevine L1 support as well as Game Turbo mode on the device.

Now, the company has started releasing yet another update for the smartphone — MIUI, which brings the May 2019 security patch to the device along with a few other features. This new update weighs around 390MB in size and is being rolled out in phases.

It also comes with support for a customizable lock screen clock which can be accessed by heading over to the Settings > Lock screen & password > Advanced settings menu. However, it’s noteworthy that this clock won’t work with third-party themes.

The changelog for the update also mentions a few fixes, including optimizing sorting principles for Wi-Fi networks and fix for the issue of dual apps disappearing after reboot. The new MIUI update for the Poco F1 is based on Android 9 Pie.

Alvin Tse, who is the Global Head of Pocophone, has confirmed that the Pocophone F1 will be getting the new Android Q update as well. However, he has not revealed any more details or any timeline for the update rollout.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the Pocophone F2 or Poco F2 but the company has not confirmed anytime related to the successor of the Poco F1. The launch of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro has created confusion about the positioning of the Poco smartphones as well as the brand’s future.
