The POCO F2 hits Geekbench, but something’s fishy

Everyone wants to know about what’s up with the upcoming POCO F2. It wouldn’t even be an overstatement to say it’s one of the most eagerly awaited devices around. People really want to know whether POCO can strike gold twice. Well, today some Geekbench scores for the alleged POCO F2 appeared, but something just doesn’t seem to add up.

The alleged Poco F2 listing suggests that the successor to the massively successful Poco F1 will be powered by Snapdragon 855. This is pretty much what everyone knew would happen, nothing exactly too surprising, right? Well, this isn’t the surprising bit, that’s coming up right after this.

The Geekbench listing shows us that the new device only carries 4GB of RAM. This seems particularly odd, considering the POCO F1 came with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. It’s quite unlikely that the successor would have lesser specs than the predecessor. As if that weren’t enough, there’s even more that makes the listing suspicious.

The single and multi core scores on Geekbench don’t really reflect typical performance scores of a Snapdragon 855 powered phone! The single core score is 1776 and multi core score is just 6097. Most phones carrying Snapdragon 855 processor have multi core scores in the range of 10,000 or above. Even the single core score is way off from your typical 855 device.

Honestly, I don’t really know what to make of this listing. I don’t think it’s legitimate, too many details don’t fit with the expectations for the device. If this is the actual score of the POCO F2 however, they’re going to need to start polishing its performance soon. For more news on POCO, Xiaomi and Redmi, keep reading on!
