Not too long after the Mi A2 got its price cut, now another Mi device is on the price tag chopping block! This time, it’s the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, getting its price cut from Rs. 13,999 down to Rs. 11,999, the same as the Mi A2! It makes sense considering the Redmi Note 7 is here, but it’s still odd.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro is a direct competitor to the Mi A2, since they both occupy the same mid-range niche. I suppose it makes sense to have a stock and MIUI option, and there are still a bunch of differences between the two, despite both being mid-rangers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 has a 6.26-inch notch display and a screen aspect ratio of 19:9. There’s a 12MP+5MP dual rear camera and a 20MP+2MP dual front camera setup as well . The device runs on the Snapdragon 636 SoC, with with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB storage options.
There’s expandable storage of up to 128GB via a microSD card slot, and a hefty 4,000mAh battery. Redmi Note 6 Pro runs MIUI 10 Global ROM, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Overall, a solid mid-range offering. How this affects the Mi A2 however remains to be seen.
