The Poco F1 has been called the flagship killer, but it’s always been held back by its lack of Widevine L1 support. What this meant was that content from sites like Netflix and Amazon Prime couldn’t stream HD content. We thought the latest update would fix this, but apparently not.
The Poco F1 MIUI 10.2.3.0.PEJMIXM update comes in at about 550MB in size. Besides the security patch and general improvements, Xiaomi did not mention other features that are coming as a part of the update. This means that there’s still no Widevine L1 support, again.
It’s pretty surprising to see that there’s no Widevine L1 support in this stable update. There’s already a fix for the issue in the latest beta update, so this could mean it’s still not stable enough for daily use. Whatever the issue is, we hope Poco sort it out soon.
The beta update adds support for 4K video recording at 60fps, another thing users have wanted on their Poco F1s. Other than that, there’s really not much else to say. For Poco F1 users, keep your phones on wi-fi and check the updater frequently.
