Until now, it was not easy for European customers to purchase a Xiaomi phone. The company has opened just some stores in Russia and Greece, so people from most western countries who wanted to purchase a device from this company were forced to order it from China. Well, it is not so anymore in Spain, where the Chinese giant has just opened the first online marketplaces to sell phones and many other products. The online marketplaces have been opened on Amazon Spain, MediaMarkt, Phone House and Carrefour.
Furtherly, the products from the company will be sold on the Spanish section of the official website (mi.com/es). The first phones which have been made available are Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi Mix 2. The first is a midrange, the only phone from the company with Android One installed. It has a 5.5 inch display with a Full HD resolution, an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and a dual camera setup with a 12 MP resolution, capable of doing a 2x optical zoom.
This phone has a price tag of 230 euros in Spain. Mi Mix 2 is the flagship, with a 5.99 inch bezel less display showing images at a Full HD+ resolution. It has an octa core Snapdragon 835 processor, 6 GB of RAM and a single 12 MP camera. It will cost exactly 500 euros. A Xiaomi Mi TV Box has been made available as well, with a price of 75 euros, while the Yi 4K GoPro-like action camera is available with a price of 135 euros. Online sales are going to start today, while on Saturday (November 11) the company will open brick and mortar stores in Madrid. At last, retail partners will get Xiaomi devices in Spain starting from November 22. The expansion of the company all around the world continues: actually it is already in the top 5 best smartphone brands.
