New renders of Xiaomi Mi7 have surfaced and they show an outstanding device, with an even more incredible design than the one of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. They are not official images, so take them with a pinch of salt. The images show a full borderless design with a screen to body ratio that is near to 100 percent. The fingerprint reader is embedded in the display: the company may have opted for an ultrasonic technology similar to the one of Xiaomi Mi 5s. Vivo and Qualcomm have recently announced a technology to get fingerprint scanners under displays, but we do not know if the images are showing a fingerprint reader with this technology.
On the rear side of the alleged Xiaomi Mi7 there is a dual camera setup with a dual LED flash on its left. The back cover seems to be made either of glass or ceramic, while the frame seems to be made of metal. The source says that the phone will be officially launched in four colors: black, white, silver and blue, and that the phone will be released in a glass version and a ceramic one. According to the latest voices, the display will have a size of 5.7 inches, the OLED technology, an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2K resolution. The IP68 certification is expected as well, so it is possible that the phone will be waterproof.
On the hardware side it seems that there will be a Snapdragon 845 chipset by Qualcomm, accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM depending on the variant that you will choose to buy, and 64 or more GB of internal storage. Rumors are also suggesting that wireless charging will be supported, just like Apple iPhone X. The testing phase of the new Xiaomi Mi7 will start in November, while the announcement should be in February 2018.
