After many leaks and the official launch of the Redmi 5A, new rumors about Xiaomi Redmi 5 have surfaced. According to the new voices, the next low-end device which should be launched by the company before the end of the year will have a price of just 799 Yuan in its base variant, that is equivalent to about 121 dollars. The entry level version which will be sold at this price is rumored to sport 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. But we also expect to see on the market a variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB ROM: the rumored price for this version is 899 Yuan (that is about 136 dollars).
This is the only info given by the new rumors, but there are several previous leaks regarding Xiaomi Redmi 5 (even if no official info surfaced). According to a Chinese publication, the phone will support 5V/2A fast charging. It is expected to have a 5 inch display with an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. But some reports are suggesting that it may be a bezel less phone with a 5.5 screen and an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, we expect to see an octa core Snapdragon 450 SoC by Qualcomm.
A Plus version of this device should be launched as well, with more powerful specs. It may have a 5.7 inch bezel less display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. There may be a more powerful processor inside, maybe an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, paired with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage, depending on the variant that you will choose to buy. This version is also expected to have a dual camera setup on its back, in a vertical configuration and with a 12 MP resolution. We will surely know more about the Xiaomi Redmi 5 series in the coming days.
