Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has just been announced but we can already see its first hands-on photos which show us its design in an accurate way. The phone has a design that is not so different from many other Xiaomi phones launched in the last year. It looks like a crossover between Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4. It is a cheap phone, so it is normal that its display is not bezel less. It is a classic 16:9 panel, but it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Its body is made of a combo of polycarbonate and metal, the build quality is very good even if its price will be low. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has a fingerprint reader on its back cover (unlike its Lite version) and capacitive Android keys out of the screen. In terms of specs, it offers a 5.5 inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. On the hardware side, it has an octa core Snapdragon 435 SoC by Qualcomm and it will be offered in two configurations:

  • 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage
  • 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB ROM

The main camera of Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has a 13 MP resolution, then we got a 16 MP selfie camera and a 3080 mAh battery. The phone will cost around 170 dollars in India.
