MIUI 9 has been officially announced on July 26 together with the midrange phone Xiaomi Mi 5X, but since then we only saw beta ROMs and not any stable version. Every week the China Developer and Global Developer ROMs get updated, but they are not stable versions, so there are always important bugs that do not make them reliable. But now it has been confirmed that the stable version is coming soon. MIUI marketing director, Huang Longzhon, has declared on the microblogging platform Weibo that we will soon see the roll out of a stable version of the ROM with the number of version 184.108.40.206.
Together with the announcement a screenshot has been shared by the Marketing Deputy Director. The image was captured from Xiaomi Mi6 and it shows that the phone is running on MIUI 220.127.116.11. Usually, when a new major version of the user interface by Xiaomi gets announced, two months pass before the stable version comes. But for this version the company has needed more time. Xiaomi knows that there are dozens of millions people using its phones, and an unstable ROM would be a huge problem for the image of the company. It seems that Xiaomi wants to release a perfect ROM with no important bugs or issues.
We still do not know anything about the official list of phones that will receive the update to the stable version of MIUI 18.104.22.168 in the first batch of updates, but we expect the flagships will be updated firstly, maybe together with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The new user interface by the company will bring improvements and many new features. But some of them may not come to every Xiaomi phone that will be updated, like the split screen feature that will allow you to open two apps on the same screen for a better multi tasking experience.
