Yesterday Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been made official: it will be the cheapest phone by the company and it will be sold in China at less than 100 dollars. When it comes to budget phones, the camera is almost never satisfying, but with this device things may change. Lin Bin, the president of the company, has just shared the first camera samples shot by the camera of the new entry level device. In case you still do not know, the phone is powered by a single rear camera with a resolution of 13 MP and a f/2.2 aperture.

On the front side, it has a 5 MP snapper. Unlike its predecessor Redmi 4A, the new Xiaomi Redmi 5A also has Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) which will improve the quality of the photos. The camera samples published are not so outstanding and they are so far from the high end devices by Xiaomi and other companies. But for a budget phone like this, which will be sold at less than 100 dollars, we may be talking about a great camera. This phone may have the best camera ever seen on a new device which is sold at less than 100 dollars, at least in low light conditions.

Every camera sample of Xiaomi Redmi 5A which has been published by Lin Bin is a macro, so we still do not know how the phone will perform in normal photos and in low light conditions. Obviously, do not expect a flagship killer quality, but a decent camera which you can not find in other phones at the same price. Xiaomi Redmi 5A has a 5 inch display with an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixel. Under the hood, it sports a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Its battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh.
