We are still so far from the launch of Xiaomi Mi7, the next flagship phone by the Chinese company that will be officially unveiled in the first half of 2018. It should be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset by Qualcomm, but this SoC has still not been unveiled. Still, some screenshots published on Weibo are showing the scores obtained by the handset on benchmarks. The results allegedly come from Geekbench and GFXBench, two of the most famous benchmarking platforms in the world.
Unluckily we do not have info about the reliability of this leak, so take it with a pinch of salt because it could be a fake. Anyways, the results of the alleged Xiaomi Mi7 on benchmarks are credible. On Geekbench the handset has obtained a score of 2361 points in single core performances. It is a better result than the octa core Snapdragon 835, that is the actual flagship processor by Qualcomm. But it is still behind the result obtained by the hexa core Apple A11 Bionic SoC, found on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. Well, iOS is optimized better than Android, but it is still a worse result. On GFXBench Snapdragon 845 is nearer to Apple A11 Bionic, but it is still behind it.
According to the latest rumors, Xiaomi Mi7 will have a full screen display just like the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The screen may have a size of 6 inches, the OLED technology (with panels by Samsung or LG), an 18:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, besides the Snapdragon 845 processor by Qualcomm, there will be 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage (UFS 2.1 and not expandable). On the rear side we expect to see a dual camera setup and a fingerprint reader. We also expect to see a feature similar to Face ID.
