Philippe Starck is the official designer of the Xiaomi Mi Mix, and as you know (if you are a Xiaomi fan), the great success of this phones comes from its design. It is a full borderless phone with totally absent bezels on three sides. It has the same size as an iPhone 7 Plus by Apple, but it has a display with a size of 6.4 inches instead of just 5.5 inches we can see on the Apple’s flagship. The designer has just visited Xiaomi’s headquarters, probably to discuss the second version of the flagship. We know this from a photo posted on the social network Weibo to celebrate the arrival of the designer.
Further, the CEO of the company Lei Jun has confirmed that the man will work to the design of the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. But no specs have been revealed by any official post, so we still have to rely on rumors. According to voices, the phone will be released in Q4 2017, so in the period which goes from October to December (but according to some rumors it may even come next month). We may also see the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 together with this flagship, which will be the new flagship phablet from the company.
Rumors have already suggested many specs of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. It may have a fingerprint sensor embedded under the display and it would be the first time we see such a thing on a phone. The screen should have the same size but with even more optimized bezels. So we may see a screen to body ratio which is near to 100 percent. Just to remind you, the first version had a 91.3 percent screen to body ratio. We also expect an 18:9 aspect ratio just like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. At last, an octa core Snapdragon 835 SoC by Qualcomm paired with 6 or 8 GB of RAM should not miss.
